WHAT: Who let the dogs outs!! Join Sam Houston Race Park (www.shrp.com) for a fun-filled evening of live racing events as The Park hosts the 2nd Annual Wiener Dog Races presented by Bark’s 5th Avenue (www.barks5thave.com) on Saturday, February 13, 2010. The event will include a series of wiener dog races taking place between live horse racing, pet costume contest open to dogs of all breeds, awards ceremony for winning wiener dogs, prize giveaways and more!
Pet owners can download registration forms online at www.shrp.com. Registration fee for wiener dog race participants is $25 per pet which comes with a commemorative dog racing shirt. REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2010. There is no fee for the costume contest. Racing events are open to dogs of all ages with miniature/toy category and full-size dogs are allowed to participate. Pets must have proof of current shot records on-hand at check-in the day of the event.
