The Menil Collection is located in the Montrose-area Museum District.  It houses the world-renown collection of John and Dominique de Menil, considered one of the most important privately assembled collections of the twentieth century. The Menil Collection includes approximately 15,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs, rare books.  The only intact Byzantine frescos to be found in the Western Hemisphere located in the Byzantine Fresco Chapel Museum.
