Tranquility is located in downtown Houston between Walker and Rusk Streets, east of Smith in close proximity to Houston's famed Theatre District.  Dedicated on the tenth anniversary of the lunar landing in 1979, the park's two acre oasis of water and walkways landscape is meant to represent the cratered lunar surface.  The Wortham fountain within is designed to resemble Apollo's rocket boosters and is a delightful spectacle lit up in the evening.

Tranquilty Park is the site of many city functions, events, and festivals such as the Houston Children's Festival and the Houston International Festival.  It's location makes it a great  lunch hour respite for downtown workers.
